Durable infrared technology

Thanks to the high stability and a resistance to contamination, Draeger infrared sensors can generally be used for up to eight years. This advanced technology reduces the cost of ownership considerably because less replacement sensors are needed. In addition, a sensor calibration is only necessary every 12 months which reduces maintenance costs.

Single or dual sensor—accurate measurement results

The infrared sensor IR Ex allows the measurement of explosive, combustible hydrocarbons in the range of the lower explosive limit. The infrared sensor IR CO₂, with a measurement resolution of 0.01 Vol.-%, provides safe and exact measurements as well as a warning against toxic concentrations of carbon dioxide in the ambient air. For those applications where the reliable measurement of explosive substances and CO₂ is specifically needed, the advantages of both can be achieved by a dual sensor (Dual IR CO₂/Ex).

Pump or diffusion mode – suitable for your respective application

The X-zone 5800 offers two options for sampling gas: remote pump from 30 m (98 ft) for Zone 0 or diffusion. The pump or diffusion cover plate can be changed without tools.

Also in combination with Hydrogen

Besides hydrocarbons, hydrogen can also be an explosive gas. Because sensors based on infrared technology do not warn against hydrogen explosion dangers, the gas detector X-am 5600 combines two sensor signals (Infrared Ex and electrochemical H2) for reliable hydrogen detection. The X-am 5600 provides the advantages of poison-free technology to be used in areas where, until now, only catalytic Ex sensors have been used.

Various monitoring possibilities

Thanks to the combination of innovative infrared technology and the latest electrochemical Draeger XXS miniature sensors, this 1-to-6 gas detector reliably detects explosive, combustible and harmful concentrations of O₂, Cl₂, CO, CO₂, H₂, H₂S, HCN, NH₃, NO, NO₂, PH₃, SO₂, O₃, Amine, Odorant, COCl₂ and organic vapors. Flexible use

Suitable for Ex-Zone 0

The small and reliable gas detector is suitable for use in areas classified as zone 0, which are areas where explosive atmospheres are always to be expected.

Area monitoring

In combination with the Draeger X-zone 5500 the gas detector can be used for various area monitoring applications. Up to 25 Draeger X-zone 5500 units can be automatically interconnected to form a wireless fenceline. G450 Multi-gas Detector

S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The RKI S2 Sensors and Transmitters use state of the art sensor technology to detect common gas hazards. The sensors are available in explosion proof casing for monitoring LEL, H2 specific, oxygen, H2S, CO2, and carbon monoxide. Explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The non-explosion proof sensors use galvanic cells for oxygen detection; electrochemical technology for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other toxics; and infrared technology for carbon dioxide detection. The response times vary between 20 seconds and 60 seconds depending on the targeted gas, and the measuring ranges vary as well. These sensors are plastic or aluminum and housed in an explosion proof J-Box.

Accessories

The S2 Sensor/Transmitter has numerous accessories available to meet the individual workplace's needs. Such accessories include calibration adaptors, flow through adaptors, remote horns and lights, calibration kits, battery backups, splash guards, air aspirator adaptors or panels, and data loggers.

Clearance measurement, release and documentation in no time

The X-am 8000 effectively supports various applications with specially developed assistant functions that guide you through each process step by step. During clearance measurement, for example, the smart assistant calculates the necessary flooding time for the device and probe (FKM hose) based on parameters such as measuring gases, temperature limits, and the indicated hose length. Additionally, customer defined flooding times are also possible.

When monitoring for potentially high methane concentrations, an optional automatic measurement range switch makes it easier to take a reading: If the Cat-Ex sensor measures values above 100 % LEL, the display switches to the range of 0 to 100 vol %. A similar function to measure in % LEL and vol % simultaneously is also available for the IR EX ES sensor.

The DraegerSensor CatEx 125 PR Gas offers a special variant for the measuring gas methane, which enables measurements in the ppm range. The performance of selected sensors has been verified by an external approval body within the scope of the measurement performance approval (EN 60079-29-1) for combustible gases and vapors including methane, propane and n-nonane.

An additional useful tool is CSE Connect. It combines an app, specially designed for the X-am 8000, with a cloud-computing solution. Measuring jobs can be quickly and easily transferred to the app using an online application. An optional Bluetooth® module in the Draeger X-am 8000 enables measured values to be transferred automatically to the CSE Connect app. You can also easily and conveniently use the app to create measurement reports. This saves time and helps you manage your measuring tasks during clearance measurements more efficiently.

Clear signaling design

The signal system of the Draeger X-am 8000 is based on a clear color code, in accordance with the requirements of EN 60079-29-1, EN 45544-1 and EN 50104:

• Red light = gas alarm
• Yellow light = device-related alarm, e.g. low battery
• Green light = device is ready for use

The green glow of the D-Light allows you to see from a distance whether the device has been properly tested and is ready for use.

In case of an alarm, the X-am 8000 alerts you with colorful warning LEDs, a loud horn (100 dB(A) at a distance of 30 cm), and clearly palpable vibration. Optionally, four preset hazard symbols are available for the display which explicitly indicate the presence of explosive or toxic gas hazards, for example. This allows the user to easily recognize the type of hazard based purely on the symbol displayed.

The X-am 8000 is equipped with an impact detection system. The event report indicates whenever severe mechanical impacts have occurred that might result in functional impairments of the device or the sensors. These are also documented in the data logger. With this information, a device operator can specifically check the device. The instrument can also be locked after a detected impact as well.

Economical Fleet Management

Bumptest and calibration are carried out simply and quickly using the Draeger X-dock® calibrating station. Its low test gas consumption keeps operating costs to a minimum.

Its reporting function and numerous other useful features make the X-dock Manager PC software a smart addition to any fleet management operation. To identify devices in your fleet, you can either use tried and tested barcodes or an integrated RFID transponder.

Specialist for high and low hydrocarbon concentrations

To measure hard-to-detect hydrocarbons, you can fit the Draeger X-am 8000 with one of two high-performance PID sensors. The PID HC covers a measurement range of 0 to 2,000 ppm (isobutene). The PID LC ppb is particularly suited for a measurement range of 0 to 10 ppm (isobutene) with a high resolution in the range below 1 ppm.

For benzene-specific measurements, the X-am 8000 can be used with a pre-tube. The advantage: You only need one measuring device for this application, which significantly reduces the costs of purchasing, maintaining and transporting devices in use. The use of pre-tubes is supported by a built-in assistant.

Inductive charging protects against wear and tear

The X-am 8000 features inductive charging. This makes it easier to operate and increases the lifespan of the device. Issues like corrosion and contact problems in the charging cradle are a thing of the past. You can charge (outside of explosion-hazard zones) and measure at once, e.g, when using inside vehicles or on machinery.

The charging cradles can connect with one another, take up minimal space, and are compatible with existing Draeger X-am® series cradles.

G450 Multi-gas Detector

The G450 Multi-gas Detector continually measures up to four separate atmospheric gases. In confined spaces, the detector will monitor LEL combustible gas, oxygen, H2S, and CO. The easy to use G450 series of detectors is designed with user friendliness in mind. Many of its most common functions are operated with a single button, and the unit features a fully automatic calibration system. Users need only to attach the adaptor and flow gas to the sensors. Long Battery Life

Triple Alarm System

This unit features an elaborate alarm system that is not to be missed. The triple alarm system features a loud audible alarm of 103dB, a vibrating alarm, and bright 360 wrap around LEDs with a colored backlit display for visual alarms. S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The RKI S2 Sensors and Transmitters use state of the art sensor technology to detect common gas hazards. Their efficient design and cost effectiveness make them an industry choice for atmospheric monitoring. The sensor transmitters can be used in both indoor and outdoor conditions and are designed to interface with RKI controllers or PLC/DCS systems.

The sensors are available in explosion proof casing for monitoring LEL, H2 specific, oxygen, H2S, CO2, and carbon monoxide. These sensors also have flame arrestors and are approved for use in hazardous environments. The oxygen, H2S, CO, and CO2 sensors are available in non-explosion proof models. The sensors provide highly specific and quick detection and are long lasting. The sensors can be quickly replaced while on the field and do not require any tools.

Explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The non-explosion proof sensors use galvanic cells for oxygen detection; electrochemical technology for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other toxics; and infrared technology for carbon dioxide detection. The response times vary between 20 seconds and 60 seconds depending on the targeted gas, and the measuring ranges vary as well. These sensors are plastic or aluminum and housed in an explosion proof J-Box.

The S2 Sensor/Transmitter has numerous accessories available to meet the individual workplace's needs. Such accessories include calibration adaptors, flow through adaptors, remote horns and lights, calibration kits, battery backups, splash guards, air aspirator adaptors or panels, and data loggers.
