Sensors for special gases

The Draeger Pac 8000 performs especially well when detecting a variety of special gases. The Pac 8000 can be fitted with sensors for carbon dioxide (CO₂), chlorine gas (Cl₂), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), ammonia (NH₃), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), phosphine (PH₃) and organic vapors (OV or OV-A).

Further demonstrating the capabilites of Draeger gas detectors is that the Draeger Pac 8000 performs especially well when detecting other gases as well. It can detect ozone (O₃) from concentrations as low as 0.02 ppm and phosgene (COCl₂) from 0.01 ppm. The Pac 8000 detects nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) from concentrations as low as 0.04 ppm.

If the Draeger Pac 8000 measures hazardous gas concentrations, it sets off an audible, visual and noticeable vibrating alarm. Two bright, flashing LEDs on the top and bottom of the device ensure that the alarm is easily visible from all sides. The acoustic signal reaches a volume of 90 dB. The display can show the peak concentration measured at any given moment. Earlier alarms registered can also be retrieved at a later time, even if acknowledged.

Data logger and event logger for analyses and reports

The Pac 8000 logs concentrations and events along with date and time. The data can be downloaded to a PC via an interface and processed further there.

RKI Instrument's model SD-1 Series smart combustible gas, toxic gas, oxygen, and organic vapor detector/transmitter is a robust and reliable explosion proof design for detecting LEL and ppm levels of hazardous atmospheres. In addition to measuring the common %LEL levels of methane, hexane and isobutane, for example, the SD-1 Series also has the capability of measuring a wide variety of toxic organic compounds in a PPM range such as acrylonitrile, ethylene oxide, n-methyl pyrolidone, methylene chloride and many others. GD-70D Series Intelligent Gas Detector

The GD-70D Series Intelligent Gas Detector is a new smart gas detection transmitter that monitors combustibles, oxygen, and a wide range of toxic gases. The unit can be used as a standalone device, integrated with other PLC systems, or integrated with RKI's Beacon series of single and multi-channel controllers. Its common platform integrates numerous detection methods and requires very little maintenance.

Exclusive Features

The plug and play intelligent sensors make for easy setup and calibration by internally retaining calibration and sensor data. This allows workers to replace sensors while in the field without the need to reprogram the equipment. For little maintenance and optimal reliability, the internal technology automatically adjusts for long-term zero and span drift. The pump flow is also self-tuning for low maintenance functioning. In general, the smart sensors use electrochemical cell detection, semiconductor detection, pyrolysis-particle detection, galvanic cell detection, and catalytic combustion detection.

The GD-70D Series features a large LCD display that easily reads all notifications and provides a color coded graph for alarm status (first and second alarms are red, and fault alarms are yellow). The LCD screen displays the pyrolyzer connection, gas concentration, detection unit of measurement, the detected gas, the maintenance status, sensor identification, the flow rate, a graph of gas concentration, error codes, and alarm points. All operational settings are completely user adjustable from the front panel. The unit also has a self-diagnosing function which detects sensor trouble and system failure. The Intelligent Gas Detector has a convenient troubleshoot feature through its firmware. This allows users to investigate and resolve their own equipment issues while minimizing maintenance costs.

The Intelligent Gas Detector is a convenient size for workplace and wall space efficiency with dimensions of 2.8 D x 4.7 H x 5.9 D and weighs approximately 2 pounds. The SST1 has a 95dB alarm at 30 centimetres which is the industry standard and is required in loud industrial environments. • Serviceable: The SST1 real time monitor is a cost efficient solution for users with STEL, TWA and real time requirements.
