Detection solutions for a variety of hazardous environments

The Direct Connect Sensors are designed to be use in both indoor and outdoor settings. Additionally, some of the sensors are available in explosion proof models. The explosion proof models utilize a patented coating which serves double duty as also being water repellant. Users can also purchase splash guards to protect the sensors from very wet conditions.

Each sensor is crafted with stainless steel and housed in cast aluminum (stainless steel housing is available for some sensors). The Direct Connect Sensors are available in 2 forms: explosion proof and non-explosion proof. The explosion proof sensors are available as catalytic sensors for LEL, and LEL H2 specific. For hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide, the sensors utilize electrochemical technology which provides incredibly specific accuracy and quick response. Oxygen sensors work with galvanic technology, and infrared sensors for methane, hydrocarbons, and carbon dioxide. Non-explosion proof uses a galvanic sensor for oxygen; electrochemical sensors for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide and other toxic gases; and infrared for carbon dioxide. Both explosion proof and non-explosion proof have 1 year warranties for materials and craftsmanship.

Specifications

The response times are under 30 seconds for all gases except hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide in the non-explosion versions (with a response time of 35 seconds) and non-explosion proof model sensor for toxic gases which has a 60 second response time. The life expectancy of all sensors are between 2 and 5 years.

The GP-03, OX-03, CO-03, and HS-03 models are personal single gas monitors designed for protection from exposure to combustible hydrocarbons, oxygen deficiency, hydrogen sulfide, or carbon monoxide.

The O2, CO, and H2S versions can be operated continuously for at least 3,000 hours on (2) AAA size alkaline batteries. The GP-03 operates for 35 hours on alkaline and 30 hours on rechargeable Ni-MH. The 35-3010RK series is a compact sample draw detector assembly with a built-in pump that accepts a 24VDC input. This unit features a NEMA 4X enclosure making it dust, water and corrosion resistant. It also features a flowmeter with adjustable flow and a low flow alarm which warns of any obstructions or restrictions in the flow system. Combustibles, oxygen, hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide versions are available in many different combinations. Combustibles and oxygen versions can be suplied with or without a 4-20 mA transmitter. The 35-3010RK series can also be configured with RKI's super toxic sensors offering a wide range of detectable toxic gases.

The 35-3010RK is capable of single person calibrations and can be installed up to 500 ft. from a controller, and can interface to any RKI or third party control system (utilizing a 4-20 mA feedback signal). This is a very cost effective way of monitoring for several gases that may be in the same place, and for applications where the sensors cannot be located directly in the area to be monitored. The pump is capable of drawing a sample up to 50' from the sample point.

Explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The non-explosion proof sensors use galvanic cells for oxygen detection; electrochemical technology for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other toxics; and infrared technology for carbon dioxide detection. The response times vary between 20 seconds and 60 seconds depending on the targeted gas, and the measuring ranges vary as well. The long life battery can operate for over 3,000 hours or 1 year of normal use with no alarms or backlighting. A typical response time for the unit is approximately 20 seconds for oxygen and 30 seconds for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide. To preserve the integrity and security of the device, the unit is housed in a high-impact casing that is dust proof and weather proof.

S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The RKI S2 Sensors and Transmitters use state of the art sensor technology to detect common gas hazards. Their efficient design and cost effectiveness make them an industry choice for atmospheric monitoring. The sensor transmitters can be used in both indoor and outdoor conditions and are designed to interface with RKI controllers or PLC/DCS systems.

The sensors are available in explosion proof casing for monitoring LEL, H2 specific, oxygen, H2S, CO2, and carbon monoxide. These sensors also have flame arrestors and are approved for use in hazardous environments. The oxygen, H2S, CO, and CO2 sensors are available in non-explosion proof models. The sensors provide highly specific and quick detection and are long lasting. The sensors can be quickly replaced while on the field and do not require any tools.

Explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The non-explosion proof sensors use galvanic cells for oxygen detection; electrochemical technology for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other toxics; and infrared technology for carbon dioxide detection. The response times vary between 20 seconds and 60 seconds depending on the targeted gas, and the measuring ranges vary as well. These sensors are plastic or aluminum and housed in an explosion proof J-Box.

The S2 Sensor/Transmitter has numerous accessories available to meet the individual workplace's needs. Such accessories include calibration adaptors, flow through adaptors, remote horns and lights, calibration kits, battery backups, splash guards, air aspirator adaptors or panels, and data loggers.

Each sensor comes standard with a one year warranty for materials and workmanship.
