Detection solutions for a variety of hazardous environments

The Direct Connect Sensors are designed to be use in both indoor and outdoor settings. Additionally, some of the sensors are available in explosion proof models. Sensor Technology

Each sensor is crafted with stainless steel and housed in cast aluminum (stainless steel housing is available for some sensors). The Direct Connect Sensors are available in 2 forms: explosion proof and non-explosion proof. The explosion proof sensors are available as catalytic sensors for LEL, and LEL H2 specific. For hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide, the sensors utilize electrochemical technology which provides incredibly specific accuracy and quick response. Oxygen sensors work with galvanic technology, and infrared sensors for methane, hydrocarbons, and carbon dioxide. Non-explosion proof uses a galvanic sensor for oxygen; electrochemical sensors for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide and other toxic gases; and infrared for carbon dioxide. Both explosion proof and non-explosion proof have 1 year warranties for materials and craftsmanship.

Specifications

The response times are under 30 seconds for all gases except hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide in the non-explosion versions (with a response time of 35 seconds) and non-explosion proof model sensor for toxic gases which has a 60 second response time. Triple Alarm System

Some gas monitoring requirements are basic but important. The RKI M-Series transmitter is a highly reliable and very cost-effective 4-20 mA transmitter for the detection of carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide. This transmitter operates from a 24 VDC (11 VDC to 30 VDC) power source and provides a 4 20 mA output signal, which can be connected to a wide variety of RKI or third party controllers. The M-Series transmitters are built for use in either indoor or semienclosed areas.

The electronics are protected inside a plastic enclosure to avoid damage from mechanical abuse, water, dust or corrosion. Sensors for the M-Series have a long life-span that typically last two to three years.

Field calibrations are very basic and can be completed by a single person. The zero and calibration functions for the MSeries are performed by simply adjusting potentiometers on the amplifier board. The amplifier board is equipped with easily accessible test jacks for the connection of a voltmeter. The voltmeter is used to view sensor response while the calibration gas is being applied and the potentiometers are adjusted with a screwdriver.

The Eagle One to Six Gas Portable Monitor is available with a wide variety of exclusive features. The unit is capable of PPM/LEL hydrocarbon detection and for environmental use, has a methane elimination switch. The dual hydrophobic filters (available on some models) ensure quality control. The 35-3010RK series is a compact sample draw detector assembly with a built-in pump that accepts a 24VDC input. This unit features a NEMA 4X enclosure making it dust, water and corrosion resistant. It also features a flowmeter with adjustable flow and a low flow alarm which warns of any obstructions or restrictions in the flow system. Combustibles, oxygen, hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide versions are available in many different combinations. Combustibles and oxygen versions can be suplied with or without a 4-20 mA transmitter. The 35-3010RK series can also be configured with RKI's super toxic sensors offering a wide range of detectable toxic gases.

The 35-3010RK is capable of single person calibrations and can be installed up to 500 ft. from a controller, and can interface to any RKI or third party control system (utilizing a 4-20 mA feedback signal). This is a very cost effective way of monitoring for several gases that may be in the same place, and for applications where the sensors cannot be located directly in the area to be monitored. The pump is capable of drawing a sample up to 50' from the sample point.

To use the Direct Connect Sensors, they can be used for remote detection by mounting them onto explosion proof junction boxes, or they can mount directly onto controllers and be used as a completely standalone system. Detection solutions for a variety of hazardous environments

The Direct Connect Sensors are designed to be use in both indoor and outdoor settings. Additionally, some of the sensors are available in explosion proof models. The explosion proof models utilize a patented coating which serves double duty as also being water repellant. Users can also purchase splash guards to protect the sensors from very wet conditions.

Sensor Technology

Each sensor is crafted with stainless steel and housed in cast aluminum (stainless steel housing is available for some sensors). The Direct Connect Sensors are available in 2 forms: explosion proof and non-explosion proof. The explosion proof sensors are available as catalytic sensors for LEL, and LEL H2 specific. For hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide, the sensors utilize electrochemical technology which provides incredibly specific accuracy and quick response. Oxygen sensors work with galvanic technology, and infrared sensors for methane, hydrocarbons, and carbon dioxide. Non-explosion proof uses a galvanic sensor for oxygen; electrochemical sensors for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide and other toxic gases; and infrared for carbon dioxide. Both explosion proof and non-explosion proof have 1 year warranties for materials and craftsmanship.

Specifications

The response times are under 30 seconds for all gases except hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide in the non-explosion versions (with a response time of 35 seconds) and non-explosion proof model sensor for toxic gases which has a 60 second response time. The life expectancy of all sensors are between 2 and 5 years.
