S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The RKI S2 Sensors and Transmitters use state of the art sensor technology to detect common gas hazards. Their efficient design and cost effectiveness make them an industry choice for atmospheric monitoring. The sensor transmitters can be used in both indoor and outdoor conditions and are designed to interface with RKI controllers or PLC/DCS systems.

The sensors are available in explosion proof casing for monitoring LEL, H2 specific, oxygen, H2S, CO2, and carbon monoxide. These sensors also have flame arrestors and are approved for use in hazardous environments. The oxygen, H2S, CO, and CO2 sensors are available in non-explosion proof models. The sensors provide highly specific and quick detection and are long lasting. The sensors can be quickly replaced while on the field and do not require any tools.

Explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The non-explosion proof sensors use galvanic cells for oxygen detection; electrochemical technology for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other toxics; and infrared technology for carbon dioxide detection. The response times vary between 20 seconds and 60 seconds depending on the targeted gas, and the measuring ranges vary as well. These sensors are plastic or aluminum and housed in an explosion proof J-Box.

Accessories

The S2 Sensor/Transmitter has numerous accessories available to meet the individual workplace's needs. Such accessories include calibration adaptors, flow through adaptors, remote horns and lights, calibration kits, battery backups, splash guards, air aspirator adaptors or panels, and data loggers.

Each sensor comes standard with a one year warranty for materials and workmanship.

RKI Instruments is proud to announce our new RM series continuous gas monitors. These monitors are specifically designed for detection of H2S around temporary drilling rigs. All units include our long-life plug in electrochemical H2S sensor, range 0-100 ppm. All cable connections are protected by rugged strain relief cord grips, and sensors are mounted in an explosion proof enclosure that includes a convenient mounting bracket.

Model M2RM: Based on our M2 platform, this version includes the standard M2 transmitter, outfitted with the sensor and splash/mud guard on a 25 ft. cable. Included is a 50 ft. power cable with battery clamps for connection to a user-provided 12 VDC battery. Also included is a powerful horn / strobe mounted directly to the M2 enclosure. The GD-K8A is a diffusion style toxic gas detection transmitter ideally suited to meet your toxic gas detection needs. You can choose from a wide variety of toxic sensors to install in this model. The GD-K71D is a complete sample drawing gas monitor, including digital readout and alarm relays. A new gas sensor technology using an intelligent sensor for remote location calibration and setup is used. The new GD-K71D sensors are designed to provide a longer time period between calibrations. Calibration intervals have been extended to12 months of on-line service which equates to reduced maintenance cost. In addition, the sensors can be calibrated away from the gas detector installation, for example in a service area or off site. This eliminates the inconvenience of having calibration gases in the fab or monitoring location. GD-K71D easily connects to an existing PLC system and is ideal for applications needing a local readout or where a relay control is needed. The automatic zero correction software provides excellent long term stability and minimizes false alarms due to zero drift.

RKI s paper tape monitors utilize highly sensitive colorimetric tapes to achieve interference free detection at low PPB and PPM levels Ammonia, Arsine, Chlorine, Diborane, Hydrogen Chloride, Hydrogen Fluoride, Hydrogen Sulfide, Phosphine, Silane. The FP-300 is equipped with an easily replaceable tape. This model is equipped with a digital display showing the type of gas and concentration in PPM or PPB. The FP-300 will also display remaining tape life as well as an end of tape alarm.

The FP-300 has audible and visual alarms, as well as alarm relay contacts and 4-20mA output. A unique tape saver mode extends tape life in applications where high background gas levels may be present.

The FP-300 meets and exceeds OSHA and NIOSH compliance requirements, and does not respond to interfering gases (hydrocarbons, alcohols, solvents, CO, etc.) that may be present in industrial/manufacturing environments.

When the alarm is activated, the LCD screen's backlight automatically activates. The alarm features a quadruple notification system that includes a buzzing audible alarm, a blinking LED display, a vibration alert, and display indicator. The unit performs regular safety self-evaluations for sensor connections, battery life, and circuit issues. Amazingly, the unit can function with more than 250 hours of continuous operation with 2 AA alkaline batteries.
