The replacement parts are also readily available and compatible with all Xgard models, thereby reducing the amount of required spare parts that are stored in the facility. Additionally, the sensors have two times the typical life spans of similar sensors in the industry. With a 2 year life span, worksites can expect to cut their sensor replacement costs in half. The operation of the DS400 docking station couldn't be any easier. Simply put the G450 or the G460 in the dock and the system will take over from there. The DS400 automatically performs a full functional test including fresh air calibration, bump test, extensive sensor tests, alarm tests and optionally performs an automatic AutoCal® calibration.

Extensive diagnostics

The DS400 is designed to go beyond the traditional basic docking station tests and includes sensor diagnostics tests such as T50 and T90. Single or dual sensor system is designed to monitor gas atmospheres from extreme conditions with either temperature, moisture, or pressure challenges. A powerful air aspirator can pull a sample from up to 100 feet away. The filtered and conditioned sample gas is then passed across one or two different detectors. Each detector shares a common calibration and compressed air inlet for aspirated flow. This system is fault tolerant removing the need for expensive downtime and maintenance. The sample is diluted with air after the gas sensor and then returned to a common exhaust reducing the danger of potential hazardous gases entering a safe work space.

System integrity is maintained at all times using a flow fail monitoring device which provides a NO contact that activates if the sample line becomes blocked or damaged or if the air supply is removed or interrupted.

The panel can be used with direct-connect (sensors connected to an RKI controller), or with S2 Series, and M2 Series transmitters. All transmitters have a 4-20 mA signal for direct connection to the site DCS, PLC or site control system. Ease of Use

For typical daily operations, the G460 Multi-Gas Detector operates with a single button. The complete user interface can provide access to advanced setup options with three buttons. The unit also features easy calibration operation. Simply attach the calibration adapter and apply gas. The G460 will automatically perform the appropriate adjustments. The detector will then store the dates of the three most recent calibrations for each sensor.

The G460 also features a large easy to read tricolor display which uses a color code to indicate the alarm severity. From green to orange to red, the tricolor display is intuitive and incredibly user friendly. The display feature can also flip or zoom with the touch of a button. The G460 multi-faceted alarm system also includes an ultra loud audible buzzer at 103 dB, a standard vibration mechanism, and 360 bright LED alerts (the LED alerts can also be equipped to function as flashlights). This multi-faceted system is sure to alert users and those nearby of the potential hazardous conditions. For smooth and continuous operations, the G460 Multi-Gas Detector uses interchangeable alkaline and rechargeable battery packs that provide up to 25 hours of continuous operation. Using a drop in cradle charger, the rechargeable pack can completely recharge in less than 4 hours.

G460 Multi-Gas Detector Features

The G460 Multi-Gas Detector features a motorized pump with a built-in diffusion or sample draw mode switch. The hose is easily attachable and can draw from 100 feet away. The hose is powered by its own battery pack that provides 20 hours of continuous operation. The multi-gas detector also features the widest range of sensors on the market. The compatible long lasting (and interchangeable) smart sensors include LEL, SO2, O2, H2, H2S, NO, CO, O3, HF, NH3, CIO2, CI2, PH3, ETO, HCN, and NO2. Users can purchase additional sensors to help customize the unit such as infrared sensors for the measurement of CO2 and photoionization sensors for volatile organic chemical hazards. The G460 has standard data logging capabilities that store up to 55 hours of the most recent activities. Alarm activations gas thresholds and stored permanently in the internal memory. Employers can download all internal information to generate reports and monitor results.

Specialty Sensors

The Eagle 2 has a variety of available specialty sensors. Workers can use a photoionization detector for low or high range VOC detection and Fence Electrode Technology for humidity and contamination resistance. An infrared sensor is available for Co2, % LEL CH4, % Volume CH4, % LEL HC, and % Volume HC. Thermal conductivity sensors are available for % Volume H2 and % Volume CH4. The unit is also compatible with the smart plug and play toxic sensors for the detection of NH3, AsH3, CI2, HCN, PH3, and SO2. Exclusive Features

The monitor has a long internal pump that can draw samples for up to 125 feet. The pump features a low flow auto shut off and alarm. This allows operators to respond swiftly from a safe distance. The unit is multilingual with 5 different language preferences, and features an alkaline battery life of 18 hours or a NiMH life of 20 hours. To protect the integrity of the device and the configurations, the unit can be password protected. The Eagle 2 also has standard data logging capabilities for easy research, evaluation, and site monitoring. To reduce calibration costs and time, the unit features an automatic calibration option and a single gas calibration option.

The Eagle 2 is heavily protected from environmental conditions by a weather proof, chemical resistant RFI/EMI coated high impact polycarbonate/PBT blend enclosure. The enclosure also renders the unit water and dust resistant. Because of the enclosure, the Eagle 2 can function in 2 inches of water without leakage.
