The Crude Oil Tanker model is a combination type portable HC, O2, and H2s gas detector with an Infrared (NDIR) type sensor, galvanic cell type sensor and Electro-chemical cell type sensor. These sensors provide accurate detection of HC, O2 and H2S levels even in N2 and other inert environments. The measuring ranges of model RX-516 are 0-100%LEL / 0-10%vol for HC, 0-25% vol for O2 and 0-100.0ppm for H2S respectively. A higher range for H2S (0-1,000ppm) is available in model RX-517. The 35-3000RK series is a compact sample draw detector assembly with a built-in pump that accepts a 24VDC input. This unit features a NEMA 4X enclosure making it dust, water and corrosion resistant. It also features a flowmeter with adjustable flow and a low flow alarm which warns of any obstructions or restrictions in the flow system. The GX-2003's large LCD display shows all gas readings, battery level, current time, and will automatically backlight in alarm conditions. This unit also has a special bar hole mode to facilitate locating underground gas leaks. A high sensitivity leak check mode is also included, and provides ppm level detection of gas leaks. A special variable frequency alarm helps to pinpoint the leak without looking at the instrument display. Other standard mode alarm types include vibration, visual, and audible alarms that can be set to latching or non-latching. Controlled by a microprocessor, the GX-2003 continuously checks itself for sensor connections, low battery, circuit trouble, low flow, and calibration errors. The GX-2003 can interchangeably operate on either a Ni-MH battery pack or 3 AA alkaline batteries. The batteries are simple to replace requiring no tools to access the battery compartment. Sensor Technology

Each sensor is crafted with stainless steel and housed in cast aluminum (stainless steel housing is available for some sensors). The Direct Connect Sensors are available in 2 forms: explosion proof and non-explosion proof. The explosion proof sensors are available as catalytic sensors for LEL, and LEL H2 specific. For hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide, the sensors utilize electrochemical technology which provides incredibly specific accuracy and quick response. Oxygen sensors work with galvanic technology, and infrared sensors for methane, hydrocarbons, and carbon dioxide. Non-explosion proof uses a galvanic sensor for oxygen; electrochemical sensors for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide and other toxic gases; and infrared for carbon dioxide. The tri-sensor head can be used either indoors or outdoors. The flame arrestors for the explosion-proof versions utilize a patented coating which make them water repellent. Also, splash guards are available for use in very wet environments.

The unique tri-sensor design integrates 3 sensors into one explosion proof housing. This results in significant savings with installation and wiring cost versus traditional single sensor enclosures. Only one conduit needs to be run to the sensors.

The tri-sensor head is designed to exclusively interface with the RKI Beacon 410 controller. This 3 sensor head, used with the Beacon 410, is especially well suited for wastewater applications.

Advanced sensor technology

Each transmitter features 2 to 3 years of life with normal service. The explosion proof LEL H2 specific transmitter has 3 to 5 years with normal service, and the explosion proof carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons feature over 5 years of life with normal service.
