Tailor-made gas monitoring

Small and lightweight: The X-am 5800 is comfortable to wear and easy to use even with gloves on thanks to its large buttons. The display clearly shows important information such as gas readings, alarms and time. The green D-light indicates that the unit is ready for use. All this, plus the completely language-free icon based user interface, makes it pleasantly simple to use and familiarise yourself with. For your added safety, its oxygen channel has four alarm thresholds – real pre-alarms and main alarms for falling and rising concentrations. Approved for use in Ex zone 0, it has also been tested according to protection class IP 68.

Powerful sensors

The new CatEx sensor offers you even more advantages: readiness for calibration within seconds, extreme robustness against shocks and the measurement of flammable vapours – such as petrol, diesel and nonane. You can also set the measurement gas to methane, propane, hydrogen, and many other gases. The performance is complemented by Drager's simple cross calibration concept, in which the measurement gas, calibration gas and bump test gas can be specified individually. Upon testing, the X-am 5800 then takes over the necessary conversions. The sensor is target to meet the demanding requirements of the new IEC standard 60079-29-1 (International Electrotechnical Commission).

At the same time, the CatEx sensor is resistant to poisoning substances such as silicones and other harmful substances. This combination of properties is exceptional. Explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The non-explosion proof sensors use galvanic cells for oxygen detection; electrochemical technology for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other toxics; and infrared technology for carbon dioxide detection. The response times vary between 20 seconds and 60 seconds depending on the targeted gas, and the measuring ranges vary as well. These sensors are plastic or aluminum and housed in an explosion proof J-Box.

The S2 Sensor/Transmitter has numerous accessories available to meet the individual workplace's needs. MGS-150 Series Gas Transmitter is a feature-rich gas detection system with a wide range of sensor options to provide real-time monitoring of refrigerant, combustible, and toxic gases. It comes standard with user-selectable analog and digital outputs that can be set for 4-20 mA, 0-5V, 1-5V, 0-10V, or 2-10V; allowing them to connect directly to most BMS, SCADA or control systems.
