Rugged, Reliable, and Flexible

The detector models are constructed to withstand the abuse of hazardous work environments. The TXgard and Flamgard Plus detectors use marine grade aluminum with a stainless steel sensor housing to ensure the safety and integrity of the equipment. The TXgard-IS+ is constructed of carbon-loaded nylon. The models also feature flexible output options including 2 or 3 wire formats, optional relays for alarm and fault, and 4-20mA current sink or source. Flamgard Plus and TXgardPlus Specifications

The Flamgard Plus and TXgard Plus models are similar in size (200 x 115 x 115 mm) and weight (2.2 kilograms). However, the Flamgard Plus utilizes a catalytic bead sensor and the TXgard Plus utilizes an electrochemical sensor. Both feature an ingress protection with an IP66 weatherproof cap and 2 x M20 x ½ NPT cable entries. These models feature optional relays of SPNO or SPNC contacts rated 30 Vdc 1A (non-inductive load) for Alarm 1 and fault for Alarm 2.

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The unit comes standard with several accessories including a shoulder strap, alkaline batteries, a hydrophobic probe, a 5 foot hose, and an internal hydrophobic filter with most models. Optional accessories can be purchased to fully customize the portable monitor to meet specific needs including a datalogging kit, remote alarms, dilution fitting, Ni-Cad batteries, battery chargers, continuous operation adapter, extra loud buzzer, extension probes, and large internal hydrophobic filter.

The Eagle has a battery life of up to 30 hours of continuous operation with alkaline or Ni-cad capability and a sensor life of approximately 2 years. Its standard weight is approximately 5 pounds with dimensions of 10.5 L x 5.9 W x 7 H. The formidable long life pump (with a life of approximately 6,000 hours) reaches up to 125 feet in range with filters and has a low flow pump shut off and alarm. The unit has a response time of up to 30 seconds for most gases, and features a double alarm of audible alerts at 85 dB and visual alerts of dual high intensity LEDs and a flashing display screen.

The display screen is an easy to read 4 x 20 LCD readout. The backlit display sits at the top of the unit for full visibility, and displays the readings and statuses of 4 channels simultaneously.

The portable monitor is rated as intrinsically safe and has a standard 2 year warranty for materials and craftsmanship.

Detective+ is now wireless. Detective Net is a wireless module that gives you up to 100 meters range excluding the use of cables. The Detective Net modules can also be used as a repeater giving you a stronger signal in those areas that are built up and that have issues with signal strength. Detective Net is backwards compatible enabling use with all version of Detective and Detective+, so it can be used on your existing fleet.

Designed for group protection, area monitoring and providing a virtual fenceline, Detective+ is a rugged, interconnectable, multigas temporary area monitor.

Detective+ may now also be equipped with infra-red (IR) sensors, providing either CO2 detection, or allowing higher levels of flammable gas monitoring. IR sensors also provide immunity to the poisoning effects which standard flammable gas sensors can suffer from. This extends sensor life and further increases measurement confidence in tough applications such as water treatment plants and certain chemical or hydrocarbon processing facilities.
