GasAlertMicro 5 Series models

This multi-gas monitor series is available in several models: the standard toxic gas model, a PID model for detection of VOCs, or an IR model for CO2 detection. The unit accurately and reliably identifies up to five atmospheric hazards simultaneously and can rapidly switch from diffusion mode to the optional integrated pump.

Each model of GasAlertMicro 5 Series has several distinct features. With the GasAlertMicro 5 Series, the standard toxic gas model, users can monitor several standard gases with a plug in electrochemical cell sensor and catalytic cell sensor and a typical battery life of 20 hours (AA Alkaline rechargeable). The GasAlertMicro 5 PID is standard with several gas detections, a plug in electrochemical cell sensor and photoionization detector, and a battery life of approximately 15 hours (AA Alkaline rechargeable). Finally, the GasAlertMicro 5 IR features specific gas detection ranges, a plug in electrochemical cell sensor, a catalytic cell sensor, and an infrared sensor for carbon dioxide monitoring. Single or dual sensor system is designed to monitor gas atmospheres from extreme conditions with either temperature, moisture, or pressure challenges. A powerful air aspirator can pull a sample from up to 100 feet away. The filtered and conditioned sample gas is then passed across one or two different detectors. Each detector shares a common calibration and compressed air inlet for aspirated flow. This system is fault tolerant removing the need for expensive downtime and maintenance. The sample is diluted with air after the gas sensor and then returned to a common exhaust reducing the danger of potential hazardous gases entering a safe work space.

System integrity is maintained at all times using a flow fail monitoring device which provides a NO contact that activates if the sample line becomes blocked or damaged or if the air supply is removed or interrupted.

The panel can be used with direct-connect (sensors connected to an RKI controller), or with S2 Series, and M2 Series transmitters. All transmitters have a 4-20 mA signal for direct connection to the site DCS, PLC or site control system. If needed, RKI instruments can supply a dedicated Gas Detection Control system to provide local alarms, 4-20 mA output with a wide range of dry contacts, making the system very sophisticated and user friendly.

Integral sample filter included to remove water and dirt, automatic drain type.

Sensors and Batteries

Respiratory air specifications

All GfG Instrumentation RAM Instruments satisfy the requirements of OSHA rule 29 CFR 1910.134 (d) (2) (ii) for carbon monoxide monitoring. They will also monitor Grade E air, generally specified for breathing air in cylinders (SCBA).

Wall mounted filter panel option

The 25, 50 and 100 CFM panels filter out dangerous toxins from supplied air sources and ensure clean, breathable air. The threestage filter system efficiently removes particulates, oil vapors and hydrocarbons from an air supply. After filtration, the regulator sets the pressure for the respiratory equipment and the manifold assembly provides multiple outlets for airline hose quick connections. The model 8025 panel includes two user female quick connect outlets; the 8050 includes four, and the 8100 includes eight. A 1/2" FPT connection is standard on all 50 and 100 CFM panels, and a 3/8" FPT connection is standard on all 25 CFM panels.
