CONVERTING EC TO TDS

The Milwaukee EC Pen, like all conductivity meters, provides a measure of electrically charged ions in a solution and is an absolute measure of conductivity.

EC is often converted to TDS in parts per million (ppm). Different scales include the 500 scale, 650 scale and the 700 scale. However, true PPM can only be determined through chemical analysis.

Your mS/cm reading can be approximately converted to TDS (ppm) as shown in the examples below.

2,000 μS/cm = 2.0 mS/cm = 1000 ppm on .50 factor scale

2,000 μS/cm = 2.0 mS/cm = 1400 ppm on the 442 scale or .70 factor scale

Fixed gas detection systems, consisting of one or more central controllers and transmitters, are used in applications requiring continuous monitoring of toxic gases, combustible gases and vapors or oxygen. In situations which make standard solutions hit their limits because of the number of monitored measuring points or zones, the GMA400 controller provides new options for creating complex gas detection systems.

Up to 16 analog or 128 digital GfG transmitters can be connected to one GMA400 controller. An additional 32 virtual transmitters monitor calculated parameters, such as mean values, minimum / maximum values and environmental influences. The compact DINrail-mounted controller (T35) is installed in control cabinets or wallmounted housings.

Digital Communication on Analog Lines

ACDC is a patented technology which allows transmitters to communicate information that goes beyond the plain measured value to the central evaluation unit, using 3-wire 4-20mA line that were already in place. It also receives digital signals from the controller in return. This solution is a significant benefit to your system, as it allows you to use existing analog loops for high-speed transmission of digital data.

Using the analog cabling you already had will allow you to significantly reduce the costs of updating your system – while controllers and ACDC-capable transmitters will still be able to communicate like in a digital system.

The RKI M2A™ is a state-of-the-art transmitter that can operate as an independent, stand-alone monitor or as part of an integrated system. Equipped with a strong internal sample pump, a man-down alarm, a panic alarm, an LED flashlight, and large auto rotating LCD display, the GX-6000 can operate as a single gas PID unit or a multifunctional tool utilizing all 6 channels. The GX-6000 with a PID sensor will come equipped with a library of over 600 VOC gases to choose from as standard. Choosing from the library is easy with a personalized favorites list of 30 commonly used VOC's as well as a list of 8 of the most recently used VOC's.

The GX-6000 has a rugged design built for the nastiest environments. It is equipped with a removable impact-resistant rubber boot and a dust and water resistant enclosure with an IP-67 rating. With 5 bright LED lights on 3 sides of the instrument, alarms are easily seen from a variety of perspectives. With vibration and loud audible alarm, GX-6000 will easily alert users when needed.

The MX6 iBrid® is more than an intelligent hybrid of Industrial Scientific's best monitoring technologies—it's the most adaptable six-gas monitor on the market.
