RKI Instrument's model SD-1 Series smart combustible gas, toxic gas, oxygen, and organic vapor detector/transmitter is a robust and reliable explosion proof design for detecting LEL and ppm levels of hazardous atmospheres. In addition to measuring the common %LEL levels of methane, hexane and isobutane, for example, the SD-1 Series also has the capability of measuring a wide variety of toxic organic compounds in a PPM range such as acrylonitrile, ethylene oxide, n-methyl pyrolidone, methylene chloride and many others. This gives the SD-1 Series a unique niche in RKI's gas detector line-up. The SD-1 has an ATEX/IECEX approval for the explosion class ExdIICT5 and has an IP-65/67 ingress protection rating.

The SD-1 has a 4-20mA signal output as well as relay contacts for interfacing with other control systems or monitoring facilities. The FS20X is the latest generation high technology Multi Spectrum (UV/Dual IR/VIS) Fire and Flame Detector, which is part of the FSX family of advanced technology Electro-Optical Flame detectors.

Based on the foundation of the highly successful and reliable SS4 detector, the FS20X detector represents a quantum leap in integrating Infrared and Ultraviolet sensing technologies. The FS20X is a Multi-Spectrum and UV/Dual IR/VIS fire and flame detector with a proven UV solar-blind sensor. The FS20X exhibits faster false-alarm free response to fires over a wider temperature range and with a much longer detection range compared to conventional UV/IR detectors.

Conventional and older technology UV/IR detectors, using narrow band 4.3 micron IR sensors, will not respond to smoky fires or if the detector lens is contaminated with oil and other substances since both UV and 4.3 micron signals are attenuated, obscured or absorbed by thick smoke or detector lens contaminations. All UV sensors will be attenuated to some degree. Also, these old technology UV/IR detectors will not alarm to any fire if they are installed behind ordinary window glass.

Dual microprocessors provide a high level of fail-safe operation combined with fast and reliable performance. The master microprocessor performs high-speed digital sampling and signal processing calculations whilst the slave microprocessor handles various sensor data, performs communications, self-diagnostics and provides interface versatility and additional memory for storing event log and FirePic™ data. The FS20X detector has a detection range in excess of 60 m (200 feet) (very high sensitivity setting) for the detection of a 0.1m² (one square-foot) Heptane reference fire and has a cone of vision greater in volumetric coverage than most UV/IR detectors. This means fewer detectors can be used as compared to other manufacturers' detectors.

The FS20 detector using advanced patented algorithms for signal processing and fire and flame analysis is designed to alarm to all types of fires in all industrial environmental conditions. Easy operation

The operation of the DS400 docking station couldn't be any easier. Simply put the G450 or the G460 in the dock and the system will take over from there. The DS400 automatically performs a full functional test including fresh air calibration, bump test, extensive sensor tests, alarm tests and optionally performs an automatic AutoCal® calibration.

Extensive diagnostics

The DS400 is designed to go beyond the traditional basic docking station tests and includes sensor diagnostics tests such as T50 and T90. After all, what good is a sensor that can respond to gas when it takes too long to get there? With the DS400 you can have confidence with this added level of safety.

Automatic charging

After all tests have been completed the DS400 will automatically start the charging process of the detector or you may remove and begin using it. In case the detectors battery condition is insufficient to complete a test the DS400 will charge the instrument before performing the test.

Record Keeping

A good instrument gas detection maintenance program is not complete without equally good records keeping. Whether you choose to download or maintain the records on a PC or network or your preference is to leave it to the docking station, the DS400 is the right choice.

The DS400 can retain as many as 2 million complete diagnostics in memory with maximum memory installed. That is over 50 years of data even if testing 100 detectors every single day!

The FS20X is the latest generation high technology Multi Spectrum (UV/Dual IR/VIS) Fire and Flame Detector, which is part of the FSX family of advanced technology Electro-Optical Flame detectors.

Based on the foundation of the highly successful and reliable SS4 detector, the FS20X detector represents a quantum leap in integrating Infrared and Ultraviolet sensing technologies. The FS20X is a Multi-Spectrum and UV/Dual IR/VIS fire and flame detector with a proven UV solar-blind sensor. The FS20X exhibits faster false-alarm free response to fires over a wider temperature range and with a much longer detection range compared to conventional UV/IR detectors.

Conventional and older technology UV/IR detectors, using narrow band 4.3 micron IR sensors, will not respond to smoky fires or if the detector lens is contaminated with oil and other substances since both UV and 4.3 micron signals are attenuated, obscured or absorbed by thick smoke or detector lens contaminations. All UV sensors will be attenuated to some degree. Also, these old technology UV/IR detectors will not alarm to any fire if they are installed behind ordinary window glass.

Dual microprocessors provide a high level of fail-safe operation combined with fast and reliable performance. The master microprocessor performs high-speed digital sampling and signal processing calculations whilst the slave microprocessor handles various sensor data, performs communications, self-diagnostics and provides interface versatility and additional memory for storing event log and FirePic™ data. The FS20X detector has a detection range in excess of 60 m (200 feet) (very high sensitivity setting) for the detection of a 0.1m² (one square-foot) Heptane reference fire and has a cone of vision greater in volumetric coverage than most UV/IR detectors. This means fewer detectors can be used as compared to other manufacturers' detectors.

The FS20 detector using advanced patented algorithms for signal processing and fire and flame analysis is designed to alarm to all types of fires in all industrial environmental conditions.
