Coatings and Prisms

Nature DX features fully multi-coated optics. A binocular is "fully multi-coated" when all air-to-glass surfaces are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflectivity coatings so that the maximum amount of light passes through the glass to the eye.

The prisms inside Nature DX consist of high-quality BaK-4 glass with phase coatings applied so that more light reflects off their internal faces and passes through to the eye.

Taken together, the fully multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for the remarkably bright, highly detailed images.

The Body

A durable rubber armored polycarbonate housing protects your Nature DX binoculars from damage without weighing you down. Viewing through Nature DX is comfortable for eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers alike, thanks to the durable twist-up eyecups. Twist through multiple click stops to find the position that works best for you.

What's more, the binocular is fully waterproof and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal fogging of the lenses. Nature DX can stand up to even the harshest outdoor conditions.

Perfect for a Variety of Uses

The Nature DX 12x50mm offers 12x magnification, perfect for up-close views of distant subjects. Despite its higher magnification, this binocular maintains a close focus of just 8.2 feet, making it a great choice for viewing nearby birds, butterflies, plants, and more. The 50mm objective lenses are large enough to transmit lots of light, while still being lightweight enough to use without a tripod. Of course, the binoculars are also tripod-adaptable (adapter sold separately) for extended viewing sessions or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece).

Ways to Observe

Carry your Nature DX with the comfortable included strap. It's also tripod-adaptable, so you can mount it on any standard photographic tripod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece). The tripod adapter is sold separately. OSHA defines the breathing zone as a ten inch radius around the worker's nose and mouth, and requires that worker exposure monitoring air samples be collected in the breathing zone. Air sampling filters may be attached to the collar or lapel. Traditionally this means only a single gas monitor would be small enough for a worker to practically wear a gas monitor 'In the breathing zone'. Now there is a 4 gas monitor smaller than many single gas monitors.

The GX-3R is the worlds smallest 4 gas monitor weighing only 3.52 ounces and can comfortably be clipped within a worker's breathing zone (2.2" W x 2.55" H x 1.02" D). It simultaneously monitors and displays LEL combustibles, O₂, CO (Hydrogen compensated CO also available), and H₂S.

The GX-3R represents the latest evolution of gas detection technology utilizing a new generation of micro sensors. The LEL sensor has a unique design with two active filaments in one sensor to increase it's resistance to silicone poisoning. If one filament gets poisoned the second filament takes over. The new O₂ sensor is electrochemical with a 3 to 5 year life span. H₂S and CO are now available in a combo micro sensor.

Safety supervisors will appreciate the non-compliance indicator. The instrument flashes it's 3 LED lights every 30 seconds in the following conditions; if the instrument has not been bump tested, or if calibration is due, or if there was a gas alarm event. The 3 LED lights will continue to flash once every 30 seconds until the non-compliance condition has been resolved. The 30 second interval is adjustable.
