The gas detector is encased in a durable solid polycarbonate case with a rubber over mold for easy handling. It has an interchangeable battery pack with both Alkaline and Li-Ion rechargeable batteries. Both battery types offer up to 24 hour run times. The unit features dual audible alarms at 92 decibels and front and side ultra-bright LED visual alarms to ensure that the user and those nearby are always notified of possible hazardous conditions. For easy interpretation, the detector has an easy to read status bar and large LCD display that notifies users of the device s functionality and calibration due date. Using the menu options, users can easily adjust a variety of the instrument s settings.

Automatic Docking Station

When developing the PhD6 Multigas Detector, product developers also created an automatic docking station (Biosystems IQ6 Express Dock) to be fully compatible with the detector. The docking station aims to reduce labor time and costs by fully automating certain aspects of instrument maintenance including calibration, functionality testing, and record keeping. Using the Express Dock, users can maintain compliance with recordkeeping requirements by simply docking the detector in the station. The station will automatically perform a variety of operations without user intervention.

RKI Instrument's model SD-1 Series smart combustible gas, toxic gas, oxygen, and organic vapor detector/transmitter is a robust and reliable explosion proof design for detecting LEL and ppm levels of hazardous atmospheres. In addition to measuring the common %LEL levels of methane, hexane and isobutane, for example, the SD-1 Series also has the capability of measuring a wide variety of toxic organic compounds in a PPM range such as acrylonitrile, ethylene oxide, n-methyl pyrolidone, methylene chloride and many others. This gives the SD-1 Series a unique niche in RKI's gas detector line-up. The SD-1 has an ATEX/IECEX approval for the explosion class ExdIICT5 and has an IP-65/67 ingress protection rating.

The SD-1 has a 4-20mA signal output as well as relay contacts for interfacing with other control systems or monitoring facilities. All SD-1 types are also available with HART communication instead of 4-20mA relay. SIL2 is available for the IR, EC and OX types. In facilitating non-intrusive conditions in hazardous atmospheres, the SD-1 can be calibrated and it's menus navigated with magnetic switches and a magnetic key.

The PS200 is a rugged, easy to use portable multi-gas detector ideal for use in confined spaces and hotworks. Both lightweight and durable the instrument monitors and displays up to four hazardous gas conditions simultaneously using catalytic bead sensor technology for a wide range of combustible gases, and electrochemical sensors for carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, and oxygen deficiency. Operator interface and calibration are intuitive and easy by toggling between simple one-button functions. During hazardous conditions users are alerted via three alarm functions: vibration, red flashing LEDs, and audible buzzer. To ensure the highest level of personal safety, the PS200 is also fitted with an optional man down/motion sensor that activates alarms if the instrument is not moved at a pre-set time.
