The 2" OIII narrowband filter isolates just the two doubly-ionized oxygen lines (496 and 501nm lines) emitted by planetary and emission nebulae, while blocking the rest of the overall spectrum of light. The result is extreme contrast between the black sky background and the faint photons of OIII light needed for detailed views of the Veil, Ring, Dumbbell, Crescent and Orion nebulae, among other objects.

93625 Universal 1.25" T-Adapter by Celestron

The Celestron Universal T-Adapter connects a DSLR or SLR camera body to a telescope with a 1.25" focuser or eyepiece adapter installed. The T-threads on the top of the Universal T-Adapter screw into a T-Ring (sold separately) that is designed to attach to the brand-specific mounting flange of your camera. The barrel end of the T-Adapter slides into the focuser, just like an eyepiece, and locks into place with the focuser or eyepiece adapter thumbscrew.

Please note that some telescopes, especially "fast" refractors and most Newtonians, may not have enough focus travel to allow the photographic image to come to focus when used in prime focus mode. In these instances, we recommend using the Universal Barlow & T-Adapter (#93640), which will double the magnification, but will allow the telescope to reach focus.

This sturdy metal T-Adapter is the accessory of choice if you'd like to attach an SLR or DSLR camera to the rear cell threads of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope for prime focus photography.

To get started, you'll need the appropriate T-Ring for your camera body (#93402 for Nikon & #93419 for Canon EOS). Remove the lens from your camera and attach the T-ring in its place. Since the T-ring is camera-brand specific, it will snap right on just like a lens. Next, remove the diagonal and visual back from the rear cell of your telescope. Screw the Celestron T-Adapter onto the rear cell threads until secure. Now, thread the T-ring & camera onto the T-Adapter. That's all there is to it. The camera is now using your telescope as a giant telephoto lens. The magnification will depend on the telescope's focal length. For instance, a 300 mm camera lens is considered to be pretty powerful, right? Well, if you are using an 8 SCT at prime focus, you've got yourself a 2000 mm lens with a lot of light-gathering capability!

Prime focus photography is popular for short exposure images of terrestrial objects as well as celestial objects like the Moon. If you want to do longer exposures of deep sky objects with this method, we suggest using a separate guidescope or off-axis guider and an equatorial mount.

If you'd like some flexibility in your astrophotography set-up, consider the Celestron Universal Barlow & T-Adapter (93640). This 1.25" accessory can be used three ways: as a 2X Barlow for visual use, as a prime focus T-adapter, or as a Barlowed" T-adapter for double the magnification and the benefit of extra inward focus travel.

The Universal Barlow & T-Adapter can be used as a 2X Barlow right out of the box. Insert any 1.25" eyepiece into the chamber and you'll enjoy double the magnification, while retaining all the eye relief of the inserted eyepiece.

The Celestron Universal Barlow & T-Adapter can also be used for prime focus photography, which means you use the telescope as a photographic lens a very big photographic lens! Just unscrew the bottom section of the unit to remove the Barlow and slide the chrome barrel into the telescope's 1.25" focuser or adapter. Lock it firmly in place with the focuser or adapter thumbscrew. T-threads on the top of the adapter screw into a T-Ring (sold separately) that is designed to attach to the brand-specific mounting flange of your DSLR or SLR camera.

The Off-Axis Guider is an essential astroimaging accessory for long focal length telescopes that require the most accurate guiding possible. The Celestron Off-Axis Guider uses a prism to intercept a small portion of the telescope's focal plane (outside the field of view of the main imaging camera) to locate a guide star. Any movement seen by the guide star will be the exact same movement seen by the imaging camera. Guiding this way will correct for tracking errors, as well as opto-mechanical errors or flexure. Off-Axis Guiders have been around for a long time, but typically pose three main challenges:

• Finding a guide star from the far edges of the telescope's focal plane can be difficult, considering the small field of view and sometimes less-than-ideal illumination.
• Getting both imaging camera and autoguider to reach focus with one another is time consuming and sometimes requires experimentation.
• Additional spacers and adapters are usually required for your particular camera, telescope, and autoguider, which adds to cost and complexity.

Celestron's Off-Axis Guider addresses these challenges by:

Our eyes work as a team, and our brains are wired to work with images that both eyes produce together. When we use just one eye to do observations through an optical device, the results are lacking somewhat in detail and contrast. A binoviewer uses two matching eyepieces to allow you to get the most out of your observations. The Celestron Binocular Viewer weighs about 18 ounces and uses approximately 3.5 inches of back focus. Inside, a velvet-lined interior absorbs any additional stray light and excess moisture, creating optimal contrast when viewing and imaging. Attach the dew shield to your telescope tube with the two adjustable clips to ensure a snug fit.

We've also constructed the cover cap from durable yet lightweight aluminum. When your telescope is not in use, place the cover cap on your dew shield to protect your Schmidt corrector from stray dust particles. 94107 Variable Polarizer Filter, 1.25" by Celestron

When you want to selectively reduce the brightness of celestial objects for a customized view, the Variable Polarizing Filter is the perfect choice. Unlike regular Moon Filters and Neutral Density Filters, the level of brightness can be reduced to just 1% or as much as 40%. To make the adjustment, simply rotate the filter's lower ring and the image gets brighter or dimmer.

This filter does not alter the color of the object you're observing, making it a great choice for astroimaging, especially when imaging the surface of the Moon. By reducing the brightness, lunar details become more pronounced and defined. This filter can also be used to darken the blue-sky background when hunting for planets like Venus or Jupiter in the daylight, making the planet stand out from the background.

The Variable Polarizing filter threads onto any Celestron 1.25" eyepiece. Lastly, the filter can be threaded on both sides so you can stack it with other filters, such as color or neutral density, if needed.
