Built around high-quality micro-sensor technology, the GX-2012 is RKI's smallest personal 5 sensor gas monitor with a built in sample pump. Weighing only 12.3 ounces, the GX-2012 can monitor the standard confined space gases (LEL combustibles, Oxygen content, Carbon Monoxide, and Hydrogen Sulfide). When equipped with an optional sensor, it can also measure 100% volume Methane and dynamically display either % LEL, or % volume with its auto-ranging ability. With this version, the GX-2012 can be used for gas line purge testing as well as standard safety testing, and includes two operating modes: Normal (for confined spaces) and Bar Hole.

The GX-2012's large LCD display shows all gas readings, battery level, current time, and will automatically backlight in alarm conditions. Standard alarm types include vibration, visual, and audible alarms, which can be set to latching or nonlatching. Controlled by a microprocessor, the GX-2012 continuously checks itself for sensor connections, low battery, circuit trouble, low flow, and calibration errors. The GX-2012 can interchangeably operate on either a Li-Ion battery pack or an alkaline battery pack. The batteries are simple to replace requiring no tools to access the removable battery compartment or pack. RKI's new SDM-2012 calibration station for the GX-2012 is now available with advanced features for charging, calibration, & bump testing. Once you power up the GX-2012 inside the SDM-2012 calibration module, the GX-2012's display will indicate whether it's transmitting data, bump testing, calibrating, as well as the results of the bump test or calibration.

Stand Alone Station

The SDM-2012 is a versatile maintenance tool that automates the service of a GX-2012 portable gas monitor. This docking station can be used as a stand alone device for charging, calibration and bump testing, with all records stored automatically for future upload to a PC via USB flash drive (PC software and flash drive included).

Multi Module System

The SDM-2012 can also be connected to a PC for automated calibration bump testing and archiving of datalog data from GX-2012 instruments. Up to ten SDM-2012 can be connected simultaneously using USB cables and the SDM-2012 includes connections for one or two calibration gas cylinders.
