AreaRAE Plus is a wireless, transportable area monitor that can simultaneously detect toxic and combustible gases, volatile organic chemicals, and meteorological factors that affect the speed and direction of the gas.

Whether you need to protect your community by monitoring a fence line, protect your employees during a maintenance turnaround, or protect your fire and hazmat team during emergency response, the AreaRAE Plus alerts you to threats with local audible and visual alarms. Plus, it works with Honeywell's remote monitoring software to give you a real-time view of threat readings from a safe location.

AreaRAE Plus delivers flexibility for your changing requirements:

Monitor VOCs in parts per million, with built-in compensation for temperature and humidity.

Honeywell's compact RAEMet sensor sits at the top of the AreaRAE Plus and measures wind speed, wind direction, temperature and humidity. This information is then modeled in Honeywell's real time monitoring software which integrates the ALOHA hazard monitoring program.

The AreaRAE Rapid Deployment Kit (RDK) includes four versatile GPS-enabled AreaRAE monitors, RAEMet (AreaRAE Pro RDK only), a RAELink3 wireless router built in and all the necessary accessories for field operation. With The RDK, you have everything you need to create a perimeter and set up a command station up to two miles from the site. Typically, crystals are grown to order once we find the right one for your needs. Below are the specifications for the most common detectors that we offer in this variety.

NaI(Tl), or Sodium Iodide, crystal is recommended for nuclide identification in room temperature application. It provides the best energy resolution for gamma rays in this environment and is relatively inexpensive. Sodium Iodide probes are available in a wide variety of sizes.

The CsI (Tl), or Cesium Iodide, crystal used in Radiation Alert® Probes has a higher atomic number, is more rugged, and less hygroscopic than a typical Nal detector. The improved gamma ray absorption allows a thinner crystal to be used, effectively reducing the background count rate.
