The Sensepoint range of flammable, toxic and Oxygen gas detectors offers users a cost-effective solution to their gas monitoring needs, in or out of doors and even in potentially explosive atmospheres. Supplied with a pre-wired junction box, this detector can be installed using conduit or armoured cable and glands depending on the specific needs of the application.

Sensepoint flammable and toxic gas detectors are designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, and allow for easy access to terminals via the hinged lid of the junction box. Installation should follow national guidelines using suitably approved armoured cable and glands or conduit.

Supplied with an earth continuity plate for increased resistance to the effects of RFI, the junction box offers the installer a choice of 1/2", 3/4" and M20 connection via conduit or armoured cable and Ex e certified cable glands. Terminals are suitable for use with screened 0.5mm2 (20AWG) to 2.5mm2 (14AWG) cross sectional area cable, as needed to ensure minimum operating voltage at the detector, depending upon installed cable length.

The RKI M2A™ is a state-of-the-art transmitter that can operate as an independent, stand-alone monitor or as part of an integrated system. The M2A connects with an analog or digital signal to virtually any controller, PLC, or DCS. Setup procedures are simplified with user friendly push buttons and OLED menus. It utilizes a magnetic wand technique for performing non-intrusive calibration. The M2A provides an automatic zero drift correction feature, which results in more stable readings and reduces the need for adjustments due to sensor aging.

The housing of the M2A does not need to be opened for zeroing or calibration, making it unnecessary to declassify the area for routine maintenance. It is designed so that a complete field calibration can be performed by one person. Sensor construction is rated Class I, Div. 1 Groups B, C, D for flammables, CO, H2S, O2, and CO2, and Class I, Div. 2 for all other toxics.

The transmitter provides a 4-20 mA output in addition to a Modbus digital output. It also has two levels of alarms with relays, plus a fail alarm with relay. A digital display of the gas concentration, as well as alarm and status lights, can be viewed through the front window.

The toxic sensors are electrochemical type plug-in sensors, which provide high specificity, fast response, and long life. The plug-in design allows quick replacement in the field with no tools required. Toxic sensors are designed for use in Class I, Div. 2 hazardous locations. The GX-6100 is a powerful hand-held instrument capable of simultaneously monitoring up to 6 gases. In addition to the standard 4 confined space gases which include combustibles, O2, CO, & H2S, the GX-6100 has 2 additional smart channels that accept PID, PPM, IR or super toxic sensors. The updated GX-6100 can measure combustible gases in PPM range and %volume in the same monitor.

Equipped with a strong internal sample pump, a man-down alarm, a panic alarm, an LED flashlight, and large auto rotating LCD display, the GX-6100 can operate as a single gas PID unit or a multifunctional tool utilizing all 6 channels. The GX-6100 with a PID sensor will come equipped with a library of over 600 VOC gases to choose from as standard. OSHA defines the breathing zone as a ten inch radius around the worker's nose and mouth, and requires that worker exposure monitoring air samples be collected in the breathing zone. Air sampling filters may be attached to the collar or lapel. Traditionally this means only a single gas monitor would be small enough for a worker to practically wear a gas monitor 'In the breathing zone'. Now there is a 4 gas monitor smaller than many single gas monitors.

The GX-3R is the worlds smallest 4 gas monitor weighing only 3.52 ounces and can comfortably be clipped within a worker's breathing zone (2.2" W x 2.55" H x 1.02" D). It simultaneously monitors and displays LEL combustibles, O₂, CO (Hydrogen compensated CO also available), and H₂S.

The GX-3R represents the latest evolution of gas detection technology utilizing a new generation of micro sensors. The LEL sensor has a unique design with two active filaments in one sensor to increase it's resistance to silicone poisoning. If one filament gets poisoned the second filament takes over. The new O₂ sensor is electrochemical with a 3 to 5 year life span. H₂S and CO are now available in a combo micro sensor.

Safety supervisors will appreciate the non-compliance indicator. The instrument flashes it's 3 LED lights every 30 seconds in the following conditions; if the instrument has not been bump tested, or if calibration is due, or if there was a gas alarm event. The 3 LED lights will continue to flash once every 30 seconds until the non-compliance condition has been resolved. The 30 second interval is adjustable.

Specialty Sensors

The Eagle 2 has a variety of available specialty sensors. The monitor has a long internal pump that can draw samples for up to 125 feet. The pump features a low flow auto shut off and alarm. This allows operators to respond swiftly from a safe distance. The unit is multilingual with 5 different language preferences, and features an alkaline battery life of 18 hours or a NiMH life of 20 hours. To protect the integrity of the device and the configurations, the unit can be password protected. The Eagle 2 also has standard data logging capabilities for easy research, evaluation, and site monitoring. To reduce calibration costs and time, the unit features an automatic calibration option and a single gas calibration option.

The Eagle 2 is heavily protected from environmental conditions by a weather proof, chemical resistant RFI/EMI coated high impact polycarbonate/PBT blend enclosure. The enclosure also renders the unit water and dust resistant. Because of the enclosure, the Eagle 2 can function in 2 inches of water without leakage.
