The RKI direct connect series gas sensors are highly reliable and very cost effective for the detection of common gas hazards. The direct connect series are available for LEL, Oxygen, H2S, and CO for a variety of RKI's controllers. All sensors are explosion-proof with flame arrestors, and approved for use in hazardous locations.

The tri-sensor head can be used either indoors or outdoors. The flame arrestors for the explosion-proof versions utilize a patented coating which make them water repellent. Also, splash guards are available for use in very wet environments.

The unique tri-sensor design integrates 3 sensors into one explosion proof housing. This results in significant savings with installation and wiring cost versus traditional single sensor enclosures. Only one conduit needs to be run to the sensors.

The tri-sensor head is designed to exclusively interface with the RKI Beacon 410 controller. This 3 sensor head, used with the Beacon 410, is especially well suited for wastewater applications.

Bacharach's GDA-400 four channel controller is designed to provide simultaneous display and alarm functions for up to four monitors with 4-20 mA inputs. A graphic LCD displays monitored data as gas type and concentration, bar graphs and 30 minute trends. Three adjustable alarm levels are provided per channel. Relay outputs allow control of audible and visual alarms, strobes, horns, and other alarm events.

The Bacharach GDA-400 is equipped with a fault and three alarm levels per channel with features such as ON/OFF delays, latching relays, and alarm acknowledgement. A dedicated horn driver circuit for a local audible alarm is also standard. Two standard, 5-amp alarm relays are configurable via the "alarm voting" menu to trigger relays based upon various alarm combinations. If more relays are required an optional relay board can be added.

The GDA-400 is easy to configure and offers flexibility to meet the most demanding applications. A realtime clock and calendar are standard and non-volatile memory retains all configuration data indefinitely. Options such as 4-20 mA outputs, discrete relays for each alarm are easily added. RS-485 (Modbus® RTU) or Ethernet (Modbus® TCP) ports are also available for sending data to PC's, PLC's, DCS's, or other controllers. The GDA-400 also has complete calibration functionality for each input channel. This unique feature allows maintenance and service personnel to use the controller to calibrate the Bacharach GDX-150 simple sensor.

S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The RKI S2 Sensors and Transmitters use state of the art sensor technology to detect common gas hazards. The sensors are available in explosion proof casing for monitoring LEL, H2 specific, oxygen, H2S, CO2, and carbon monoxide. These sensors also have flame arrestors and are approved for use in hazardous environments. The oxygen, H2S, CO, and CO2 sensors are available in non-explosion proof models. The sensors provide highly specific and quick detection and are long lasting. The sensors can be quickly replaced while on the field and do not require any tools.

Explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The non-explosion proof sensors use galvanic cells for oxygen detection; electrochemical technology for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other toxics; and infrared technology for carbon dioxide detection. The response times vary between 20 seconds and 60 seconds depending on the targeted gas, and the measuring ranges vary as well. These sensors are plastic or aluminum and housed in an explosion proof J-Box.

The S2 Sensor/Transmitter has numerous accessories available to meet the individual workplace's needs.
