• Run Time: The runtime is very important for confined space monitors, as traditional devices with a pumped unit draw a lot of power and struggle to last an entire shift. Based on an 8-hour working day, we designed the SST4 Pump device to run for six working days with the low power catalytic sensor and 12 working days with the infrared sensor. This will allow for more uptime doing permits for confined space entry rather than downtime charging devices.
• Ergonomic Design: The ergonomic design of a handheld device is essential as these devices can be used over a long shift. The probe can be used in dusty atmospheres, at high air velocity and under mechanical stress: for example, for measurements in industrial exhaust air (during drying processes), in bulk materials and in climatic test cabinets.

MGS-150 Series Gas Transmitter is a feature-rich gas detection system with a wide range of sensor options to provide real-time monitoring of refrigerant, combustible, and toxic gases. It comes standard with user-selectable analog and digital outputs that can be set for 4-20 mA, 0-5V, 1-5V, 0-10V, or 2-10V; allowing them to connect directly to most BMS, SCADA or control systems. Alarm indicators include an onboard alarm LED and audible buzzer, in addition to an alarm relay for connection to external audible/visual alarms or a BMS system. S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The RKI S2 Sensors and Transmitters use state of the art sensor technology to detect common gas hazards. The sensor transmitters can be used in both indoor and outdoor conditions and are designed to interface with RKI controllers or PLC/DCS systems.

The sensors are available in explosion proof casing for monitoring LEL, H2 specific, oxygen, H2S, CO2, and carbon monoxide. These sensors also have flame arrestors and are approved for use in hazardous environments. The oxygen, H2S, CO, and CO2 sensors are available in non-explosion proof models. The sensors provide highly specific and quick detection and are long lasting. The sensors can be quickly replaced while on the field and do not require any tools.

Explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The explosion proof sensors use a variety of detection mechanisms including catalytic for LEL and LEL- H2 specific; metal oxide semiconductor for hydrogen; galvanic cell technology for oxygen; electrochemical for hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide; and infrared for carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrocarbons. A hydrogen specific sensor transmitter is not available. Each of these detection methods come with their own measuring range specifications and response times varying from 20 seconds to 45 seconds. These sensors are stainless steel and are housed in a cast aluminum explosion proof J-Box (a stainless steel J-Box is also available).

Non-explosion proof S2 Sensor/Transmitter

The non-explosion proof sensors use galvanic cells for oxygen detection; electrochemical technology for hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, and other toxics; and infrared technology for carbon dioxide detection. The response times vary between 20 seconds and 60 seconds depending on the targeted gas, and the measuring ranges vary as well. These sensors are plastic or aluminum and housed in an explosion proof J-Box.

Accessories

The S2 Sensor/Transmitter has numerous accessories available to meet the individual workplace's needs. Such accessories include calibration adaptors, flow through adaptors, remote horns and lights, calibration kits, battery backups, splash guards, air aspirator adaptors or panels, and data loggers.

RKI Instrument's model SD-1 Series smart combustible gas, toxic gas, oxygen, and organic vapor detector/transmitter is a robust and reliable explosion proof design for detecting LEL and ppm levels of hazardous atmospheres. In addition to measuring the common %LEL levels of methane, hexane and isobutane, for example, the SD-1 Series also has the capability of measuring a wide variety of toxic organic compounds in a PPM range such as acrylonitrile, ethylene oxide, n-methyl pyrolidone, methylene chloride and many others. This gives the SD-1 Series a unique niche in RKI's gas detector line-up. The SD-1 has an ATEX/IECEX approval for the explosion class ExdIICT5 and has an IP-65/67 ingress protection rating.

The SD-1 has a 4-20mA signal output as well as relay contacts for interfacing with other control systems or monitoring facilities. All SD-1 types are also available with HART communication instead of 4-20mA relay. SIL2 is available for the IR, EC and OX types.
